Village assets are items belonging to the village that originate from the village's original assets, purchased or obtained at the expense of the APBDes, or the acquisition of other legal rights. It is appropriate for village assets that have the potential to generate original village income to be managed well for the progress of the village. The author conducted research on the management of village assets that have the potential to generate original village income which so far have not been managed and utilized properly in Bongkal Malang Village, Kelayang District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach method with a descriptive research type, then for data collection techniques uses interview and documentation techniques, as well as conducting interviews with 6 informants who the author considers can answer the problems in this research.
The results of this research explain that village assets that have the potential to generate original village income, such as village treasury land and village markets in Bongkal Malang Village, have not been managed because the Bongkal Malang Village Government does not have good planning, such as the absence of village regulations or regulations that underlie activities. management of village assets, then there is no structure for village asset management, so that the village asset management plan cannot be realized and has not been stipulated in the Bongkal Malang Village APBDes for 2020 and 2021. Then also the Bongkal Malang Village Government has no intention or plan to carry out managing village assets regarding village treasury land and village markets, because the Bongkal Malang Village Government wants to complete several other development programs that are more important than having to manage village assets. Apart from that, the Bongkal Malang Village Government is also unable to make good use of rental, borrow-to-use, cooperative utilization, as well as build-to-use or transfer- to-use schemes as other alternatives in managing village assets. So, on this basis, the village assets owned by the Bongkal Malang Village Government have not been able to produce anything for the Original Income of Bongkal Malang Village.
