Implementasi Algoritma K-Medoids Dalam Menentukan Tingkat Kesejahteraan Masyarakat Provinsi Riau
The welfare of the community has become one of the state's goals as regulated in the preamble of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, paragraph IV. One of the common issues in developing countries, including Indonesia, is population density, which is directly related to the occurrence of welfare problems. The province of Riau, with the tenth-largest population in Indonesia, which consists of 12 Regencies/Cities, needs to pay attention to many aspects in policy-making and meeting the needs of its people. The objective of this research is the application of the K-Medoids algorithm to generate information about the condition of a region in the Riau Province. This information will be used to facilitate the planning and policy-making process to achieve the desired welfare. The data used is the well-being of the population data for the Riau province for the years 2016-2022 based on 9 well-being indicator variables. The research process data collection, data preparation, algorithm implementation, and evaluation. The analysis results from each cluster indicate that cluster one, with a low level of welfare, consists of 10 regencies/cities, cluster 2, with a moderate level of welfare, consists of 1 regency/city, and cluster 3, with a high level of welfare, consists of 1 regency/city. There has been no change in clusters over the past 7 years.
