Analisis Potensi Dan Tingkat Pemanfaatan Ikan Tongkol Krai (Auxis Thazard ) Yang Didaratkan Di Gaung Kota Padang, Provinsi Sumatera Barat

In West Sumatra province, Padang City is one of 27 Fish Landing Bases (PPI). According to DKP West Sumatra (2011), Padang City has one PPI unit and three TPI units. The location of PPI Gaung, which is located next to Gaung market, makes big and small traders often visit the location. PPI Gaung is one of the areas included in WPP 572. In WPP 572 there is one type of tuna, namely frigate tuna (Auxis thazard), whose utilization rate is not yet known. To prevent or ensure that there is no future reduction in yield or damage to the fish population, it is important to understand the potential and exploitation rate of the resource. The research was conducted in May 2022, at the Gaung Fish Landing Base (PPI), Teluk Bayur, Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City, West Sumatra Province. This study used a survey approach with direct analysis of data collected from related institutions and fishermen. There is a downward trend in frigate tuna fishing effort on a monthly, annual, and fishing effort basis. Efforts made are still in the low to developing stage. In Gaung, frigate tuna (Auxis thazard) is caught with bagan boats and tonda fishing rods, but the standard fishing gear is bagan boats. With an optimum fishing effort (fopt) of 1323 trips, the maximum sustainable potential (MSY) of frigate tuna is 1258.11 tons. Between 2018 and 2022, the utilization rate of frigate tuna resources varied between 9.849 and 66.049%, with an annual average utilization rate of 39.157%. The total allowable catch is 1006.49 tons. Considering that the utilization rate value is still below the maximum sustainable potential (MSY) and can still increase up to 60%, the utilization rate of frigate tuna resources needs to be increased.
