This research is motivated by the existence of imbo laghangan, its sustainability and sustainability are determined by ninik mamak so that the importance of the role of ninik mamak in preserving the customary forest of kenegerian Rumbio. So the author took the research title, The role of ninik mamak in moderating community tenure rights in the customary forest area of kenegerian Rumbio. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the role of ninik mamak in moderating community tenure rights in the customary forest area of kenegerian Rumbio. The purpose of this research is to explain the extent to which the role of ninik mamak in moderating community tenure rights in the customary forest area of kenegerian Rumbio. The benefits of this research are to add references to knowledge, insight and understanding for other parties about the role of ninik mamak in moderating community tenure rights in the customary forest area of kenegerian Rumbio. The informants in the study were 9 (people) informants consisting of 6 (people) from ninik mamak 3 (people) from the indigenous people of kenegerian Rumbio, extracting information using Snowball Sampling technique. Data collection techniques used are through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. This method is done by processing data whose data results are presented through interviews. The findings in this study explain that the role of Ninik Mamak as a customary leader has a very important role in society, including; starting from making decisions, providing sanctions, providing access to researchers who are interested in conducting research in the customary forest area of Kenegerian Rumbio, to maintaining and preserving it. In addition, ninik mamak is also an intermediary when the community will utilize forest products in the area.
