Analisis Penilaian Kondisi Jalur Pedestrian Menggunakan Walkability Index Di Kampus Bina Widya Universitas Riau

Walking is a physical activity and is also the simplest mode of transportation. Walking is very effective because it can reach places that cannot be reached by motorized vehicles. Some students choose to live around campus so that access to campus can be reached easily and quickly. One option for students who are near campus is to walk. However, this is not supported by adequate pedestrian facilities, such as not connecting pedestrian facilities throughout the campus area, lack of crossing signs for pedestrians, and at several points there are damaged pedestrians. This research aims to evaluate existing pedestrian facilities on the Bina Widya campus of Riau University using the GWI method so that later efforts can be made to optimize pedestrian path facilities. The assessment is carried out by dividing the road segments into 10 segments, the division of which is based on the road ending at an intersection or exit and exit gate. The research results show that the walkability index score for the Bina Widya University of Riau campus area is 69.532, this shows that the pedestrian path in the Bina Widya campus area of Riau University is good enough for walking. Based on a survey conducted in the field, the parameters for facilities supporting groups with disabilities received the lowest score, namely 20, and also the availability of crossing routes with a score of 20. Based on the results of interviews with respondents, facilities supporting groups with disabilities received a poor rating with a score of 31 and the availability of crossing routes with score 45. This matter could be of concern to the relevant agencies for improvement. However, respondents rated the pedestrian path availability parameter as good and got a score of 66.579
