Strategi Rusia Dalam Menghadapi Sanksi Ekonomi Dari Negara-negara Barat Akibat Invasinya Ke Ukraina Tahun 2022

Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022 is considered to have violated international regulations and law. The United Nations, through the General Assembly, passed a resolution urging Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukraine and immediately stop its invasion. Western countries and allies consisting of the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia and European Union member countries imposed economic sanctions on Russia with the aim of weakening Russia's economy and military capabilities so that they could stop Russia's invasion of Ukraine. However, Russia is a super power country that has the power to meet the needs of its own country. Russia also has an existence in an international position through the strength it has in the economy, politics and military.
The aim of this research is to analyze the strategy taken by Russia in dealing with economic sanctions imposed by Western countries and the impact of sanctions on the Russian economy. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method approach. Data was obtained through document analysis from official websites, books, journals and news. This research uses the concept of economic sanctions and the concept of economic strategy.
The results of this research show that Russia is implementing several strategies, namely the Russian strategy of making adjustments to the economy by changing the payment system from dollars to rubles, strengthening cooperation with China and import substitution industry. Second, actions to oppose economic sanctions and carry out counter sanctions by limiting natural gas supplies to Western countries. Third, Russia's steps to reduce the impact of economic sanctions by carrying out parallel imports or importing goods without producer permission. Through implementing this strategy, Russia succeeded in recovering its economy. Economic sanctions imposed by Western countries on Russia are considered ineffective because they do not stop Russia's attacks on Ukraine.
