Studi Komparatif Produktivitas Alat Tangkap Pancing Ulur dan Pancing Tonda di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Bungus
Hook and line fishing is favorable because of the simplicity of construction and convenience in operation. Hand line and troll line are fishing gears commonly used by the fishermen with the main target spescies is tuna dan skipjack that has high economic value. The purposes of this research were to determine, analyze and compare the productivity values and trends of the two types of fishing gears used by fishermen at Bungus Ocean Fishing Port. The research was conducted in July 2023 at Bungus Ocean Fishing Port by using survey method. Primary data were obtained from direct interviews to the fishermen. In addition, secondary data were obtained based fishing logbooks containing catch records, vessel dimensions, total crew and the total trip from 2019 to 2022. The result reaveled an average producitivity based on GT, troll line fishing from vesssel dimension 7-17 GT reached the higest value of 1,01 tons/GT/year compared to the proctivity of hand line fishing that reached only 0,69 tons/GT/year. Productivity based on crew, troll line fishing with an average of 3 members reached the highest value of 3,69 tons/person/year compared to hand line fiahing with an average of 8 members which only reached a value of 2,59 tons/person/year. The comparison based on vessel dimensions and total crew found that the amount of fishing effort is not linearly correlated to productivity. In contrast, productivity based on trip is dominated by hand line fishing with an average productivity of 2,06 tons/trip/year compared to troll line fishing only obtained 1,43 tons/trip/year.
