Peran Guru Dalam Meningkatkan Perilaku Sopan Santun Siswa Di Sma Swasta Lkmd Kandis Kabupaten Siak Provinsi Riau
This research discusses the role of teachers in improving students' polite behavior at LKMD Kandis Private Senior High School (SMA), Siak Regency, Riau Province. Background this study there are still students who violate good manners of appearance violating good manners of communication, violating good manner of behavior. This study aims to determine the role of teacher in improving student’s polite behavior. In addition, to find out description of what efforts the teacher makes to overcome student manner at SMA Swasta LKMD Kandis private high school. This type of research uses qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques using observation, interview, documentation. The informants in this study consisted of 9 (nine) people, namely physics teachers, Pancasila and citizenship education teachers, English teachers, physics teacher, Christian religion teachers, Indonesian language teachers, and three research informants as students. The data analysis technique in this study uses a qualitative approach starting from data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions drawing. The findings of this study explain that the role of teachers in SMA Swasta LKMD Kandis has three roles namely the role of the teacher as a role model, the role of the teacher as a communicator, and the role of the teacher as a mediator and facilitator. The role of the teacher as role model is that every teacher must be a role model for their students. The role of the teacher as a communicator is a teacher who can communicate clearly so that students can understand the message conveyed by the teacher. While, the teacher’s role as mediator and facilitator namely the media used by the teacher to overcome
problems of student learning activities. Based on the results of the study, it was found that teacher role as a models, communicator, mediators and facilitator in improving students' polite behavior.
