Strategy not only determines political victory, but will also affect the
party's vote acquisition.The Golkar Party applies a political strategy to gain votes
in the Akit Tribe area, the implementation of political strategies carried out by the
Golkar Party cannot be separated from the level of understanding of the community
who are able to understand the party's strategy and goals.The political attitudes of
the Akit Tribe community in TitiAkar Village are influenced by traditional figures
as patrons of the Akit Tribe community in the legislative election which are
apparently followed by their followers in determining political choices in the Akit
Tribe community environment.This study aims to analyze the Golkar Party's
strategy in winning the 2019 Legislative Election in TitiAkar Village, Rupat Utara
District, Bengkalis Regency using Peter Schroder's political strategy theory which
consists of offensive strategies and defensive strategies.The data collection method
was carried out by interview, observation and documentation.
The results of this study explain that the Golkar Party DPD of Bengkalis
Regency used offensive and defensive strategies in an effort to win the 2019
Legislative Election in TitiAkar Village, North Rupat District, so that it succeeded
in increasing the number of votes significantly compared to the 2014 Legislative
Election.The offensive strategy of the Golkar Party was carried out in three ways,
first by means of cadreship and branding, where the Golkar Party carried out
cadreship in all tribes, races and religions.Second by means of support strength,
where Golkar is very familiar with the character of the Akit Tribe which is the
majority community in TitiAkar Village, where they are very submissive to the tribal
chief or batin.The last way is with data analysis, where the Golkar Party compiled
the composition of the Legislative Candidates using several considerations to read
opportunities and risks.The Golkar Party's defensive strategy was carried out in
three ways, namely by coaching volunteer groups, where the party really looked
after the volunteers who were already in the 2014 Legislative Election with several
coaching patterns.Transparent communication, where the incumbent legislative
candidates are very open to communication with constituents and never change
their mobile phone numbers to facilitate communication.Base consolidation is
carried out by providing several programs for regions that contribute to the party's
vote acquisition in the 2014 legislative election which is not only infrastructure
development, but also human resource development.
