The application of NPK fertilizer and coal fertilizer on Podzolic (Ultisol) medium in the Main Nursery is very important to increase P uptake and growth of oil palm seedlings. This research was carried out in the Kepenghuluan Bagan Jawa, Bangko District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province and the Soil Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University and the Central Plantation Service Laboratory, PT Central Alam Resource Lestari Pekanbaru. The aim of this research is to study the P uptake response and growth of oil palm seedlings in the main nursery on Podzolic (Ultisol) medium applied with NPK fertilizer and coal fertilizer, determine the fertilizer dose and determine the interaction between NPK fertilizer factors and coal fertilizer factors and determine the correlation between observed parameters. The research was conducted using a factorial design (two factors) arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the first factor being NPK fertilizer consisting of 3 levels (0; 17.5; and 35 g/polybag (25 kg of soil) ), and The second factor is coal fertilizer which consists of 4 levels (0; 17.5; 35 and 52.5 g/polybag (25 kg of soil)) so that the treatment combination of the two factors is 12 treatment combinations. The treatment combination was repeated 3 times so that there were 36 experimental units. Each experimental unit consists of 3 plant samples so that the total number of sample plants is 108 plants. The observation parameters consisted of shoot P content, shoot P uptake, plant height, number of leaves, tuber diameter, shoot dry weight, root length, root volume, shoot dry weight and root shoot ratio. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) then tested further using the Tukey Test at 5% level and correlation analysis between observed parameters using the Pearson Test correlation. The research results showed that compared to no fertilizer application, increasing the dose of NPK fertilizer increased plant height growth by 8%, shoot dry weight by 18%, root volume by 17%, and root dry weight by 22%. The combination of NPK fertilizer and coal fertilizer increased shoot dry weight by 17%. Based on the observed parameters of plant height, shoot dry weight, root dry weight and root volume, the treatment with better growth of oil palm seedlings was found in the NPK treatment at a dose of 17.5 g/polybag (25 kg of soil) combined with coal fertilizer at a dose of 35 g/ polybag (25 kg of soil). A strong positive correlation exists between the observed parameters of shoot P uptake with shoot dry weight, root volume weight and root dry weight. The combination of NPK fertilizer and coal fertilizer treatment is an alternative fertilizer, so further research needs to pay attention to the technique and dosage of NPK and coal fertilizer.
