This study was conducted in March 2024 and was located at the Bungus Ocean Fishing Port, West Sumatra Province. This study aims to analyze the level of business feasibility in handline fishing gear in terms of finance and rentability of handline fishing vessels, as well as to determine the productivity per trip on handline fishing gear at the Bungus PPS. The method used in this study is the survey method, namely by observing and collecting data directly on fishing activities using handline fishing gear at the Bungus Ocean Fishing Port. Based on research and interviews that have been conducted at the Bungus PPS Port, it is known that KM. Halimah operates more often and produces a greater total production than KM. Rezeki Mulya. Even so, KM. Rezeki Mulya excels in productivity per trip, which indicates the use of technology, fishing strategies, and more efficient resource management. This advantage allows KM. Rezeki Mulya to maximize results with fewer trips. Financially, both ships are feasible to operate. KM. Halimah reached the break-even point (BEP) in the second year with a value of Rp. 350,426,972, while KM. Rezeki Mulya also reached BEP in the second year with a value of Rp. 196,524,838.
