Perancangan Sistem Absensi Dosen Menggunakan Global Positioning System Dan Geolocation Berbasis Web Di Universitas Riau
An attendance system is essential for managing attendance in various places such as schools, universities, offices, and others. At the University of Riau, the current lecturer attendance system uses fingerprint technology, where lecturers must be present directly in the department or dean's room to record their attendance. This study aims to develop a web-based lecturer attendance application using the waterfall method. This method follows regular steps, where each stage must be completed before moving on to the next stage. These stages include data collection, system analysis, system design, system implementation, and system testing. The main features in this application include a Dashboard to oversee the entire system, History to view attendance history, Attendance by taking a photo as proof of attendance, Permit/Sick Application for permission applications, and Profile to manage lecturers' personal data. To determine the location of attendance on campus, several important points from various faculties and main areas at the University of Riau were selected, such as FIMPA, FISIP, FAPERTA, FAPERIKA, FT, FKIP, FEB, Rectorate, and UPT ICT. Each location has a different distance radius according to the size of the area. With this application, it is hoped that it can increase efficiency and transparency in the management of lecturer attendance at the University of Riau, as well as provide easy access for lecturers and the administration. Evaluation of the system using the black box technique, it was known that all features worked well according to the design. Meanwhile, through user acceptance testing, it was obtained that the efficiency aspect was assessed with 79%, flexibility with a score of 78%, and transparency with a score of 77%.
