Perbedaan Fase Bulan Dan Jumlah Hasil Tangkapan Gillnet Yang Didaratkan Di Desa Penampi Dan Desa Kelebuk, Kabupaten Bengkalis
This research employed generative AI to enhance data analysis capabilities,
specifically focusing on the relationship between moon phases and gillnet fishing
catches in Penampi and Kelebuk villages, Bengkalis Regency. Data was collected
from January 5 to April 5, 2024, involving 15 fishermen. GPS technology was used
to track fishing routes and record catch quantities (individuals and weight in
kilograms). Independent t-tests were conducted to analyze the impact of moon
phases on catch data. The findings revealed no significant difference in the number
of fish caught across the four moon phases. However, a significant difference was
observed in the weight of the catch, with the new moon phase yielding a
significantly higher weight (173.9 kg) compared to the waning gibbous phase (30.5
kg). The full moon and bright waning phases did not exhibit significant differences
in catch weight. While moon phase may influence fishing outcomes, other internal
and external factors, such as weather conditions, water currents, and fish behavior,
likely play a role. Further research with expanded data collection is necessary to
comprehensively understand the impact of these factors on gillnet fishing catches
in the region. This study provides valuable insights into local gillnet fishing
practices and highlights the potential influence of moon phases on catch yields.
