Geographically, Teluk Meranti Village is located at 0º10'-0º40' North Latitude (LU) and 102º 30'-102º 50' East Longitude (BT). This village is located in Teluk Meranti District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. The location of the village is directly adjacent to the Kerumutan Wildlife Sanctuary and Indragiri Hilir Regency in the south, Teluk Binjai Village in the west, Pulau Muda Village in the east, and Siak Regency in the north. Some fishermen in the waters of Meranti Bay have not made the fishing profession their main job, the fishery business is also still relatively small because the operation of fishing gear still uses simple fishing boats such as boats and outboard motors. One of the important commodities in the waters of Meranti Bay is catfish. Catfish (Pangasius sp) is a species of freshwater aquaculture fish that is very familiar in Indonesia and has economic value. The catfish nets used by fishermen in the waters of Meranti Bay use sizes of 8 inches and 9 inches. This study uses the experiment and survey methods, then analyzed using the normality test, t-test, and chi-square test. The test results showed that the 8-inch net had more catches than the 9-inch catfish. The t-test showed a p-value of 0.828 according to the number of individuals (tails) and 0.807 according to the total weight (kg).
