Etnobiologi Masyarakat Adat Suku Sakai Bathin Sobanga Di Hutan Adat Imbo Ayo Kabupaten Bengkalis
ABSTRACT
The ethnobiological knowledge of the Sakai Bathin Sobanga community in the Imbo Ayo customary forest is passed down orally, but this information has gradually diminished over time, resulting in the younger generation's decreasing understanding of forest resource utilization. This decline in understanding poses a potential threat to the preservation of traditional ecological knowledge. This study aims to know the types of plant and animal utilization as well as conservation practices employed by the indigenous community in the Imbo Ayo customary forest. A qualitative descriptive method was utilized, involving observations, interviews, and documentation studies. The research findings show that forest resources are utilized for medicine, food, and rituals, with conservation practices implemented through patrols, reforestation, and restrictions on resource extraction.
