ABSTRACT
Sumatran elephants (Elephas maximus sumatranus) are key animals that determine whether or not the forest is maintained. This research aims to determine the availability of elephant food types in Sebanga PLG.The data collection method used transects and plot lines with a size of 20x20m and 1x1m to obtain natural food production data Stratified sampling technique was used to locate the plots. Analysis of data using the calculation of forage biomass, vegetation composition, species diversity index and species evenness index. The results showed that there were 14 types of elephant food found in Sebanga EMRP. The most dominant elephant food found is Ilalang (Imperata cylindrica). The amount of biomass of Sumatran elephant food types in Sebanga PLG is 0.12 tons / ha. the availability of elephant food types in Sebanga PLG is sufficient to support the survival of elephants.
