Karakteristik Lotion Antinyamuk Dengan Penambahan Ekstrak Kulit Nanas
ABSTRACT
Pineapple peel can be used as a natural ingredient in making mosquitorepellent
lotion. This research aims to determine the best pineapple peel extract for
the characteristics and effectiveness of the anti-mosquito lotion produced.
Pineapple skin was extracted using the maceration method with 96% ethanol
solvent. The research was carried out experimentally using a Completely
Randomized Design (CRD) method consisting of five treatments and three
replications, with pineapple peel extract concentrations of pineapple skin extract
(2%), pineapple skin extract (3%), pineapple skin extract (4%), pineapple skin
extract (5%) and pineapple skin extract (6%). Observations were made on acidity
degree homogeneity, viscosity, dispersing power, irritation test, and protective
power against mosquitoe. The data obtained was analyzed statistically using the
Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), then analyzed with Duncan’s Multiple Range
Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that the addition of pineapple
peel extract with five treatments had a significant effect on acidity degree, viscosity,
spreadability, and homogeneity. The highest protective ability. The selected
treatment was (lotion with a 3% concentration of pineapple peel extract), providing
homogeneous physical characteristics of the lotion preparation, a pH value of 7.93,
a spread ability value of 5.50 cm, a viscosity value of 3829.51 cP, and mosquito
protection power 80.16%.
