Uji aktivitas antibakteri sediaan alami hand sanitizer dengan penambahan ekstrak Chlorella vulgaris terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Pseudomonas sp.
This study was aimed to determine the antibacterial activity of Chlorella
vulgaris against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas sp. and to determine
the best concentration of Chlorella vulgaris as a natural preparation material for
hand sanitizer. The method used in the study was experimental. Antibacterial
activity testing was carried out on the natural hand sanitizer preparations with the
addition of different concentrations of Chlorella vulgaris extract consisting of
four treatment levels, namely 0% (H0), 10% (H10), 13% (H13) and 15% (H15). The
best antibacterial activity test was obtained in the natural hand sanitizer
preparations with the addition of 15% Chlorella vulgaris extract (H15 treatment)
against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas sp. bacteria, with
inhibition of 10.95 mm and 10.40 mm, respectively. The viscosity and pH value
were 388.73 cp and 7.14. Moreover, the antiseptic power value was for its ability
to reduce the number of bacterial colonies from 120 colonies to 32 colonies.
