Hubungan usia dengan derajat histopatologi kanker endometrium berdasarkan ekspresi reseptor estrogen
Endometrial cancer is a malignancy originating from the epithelial lining of the uterus (endometrium). According to the Global Burden of Cancer Study (GLOBOCAN), endometrial cancer ranks as the 6th most common cancer among women worldwide. The risk of endometrial cancer increases with age, and histopathological grade is one of the important factors in determining its prognosis. This study aims to examine the relationship between age and histopathological grade of endometrial cancer based on receptor estrogen expression at Arifin Achmad General Hospital from January 2019 to October 2024. This research is an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional approach and a laboratory study with a prospective approach. The study sample included patients with endometrial cancer who underwent hysterectomy at Arifin Achmad General Hospital during the specified period. Paraffin blocks from the samples were stained using receptor estrogen immunohistochemistry. Analytical tests were conducted to assess the relationship between age and histopathological grade of endometrial cancer based on receptor estrogen expression. Out of a total of 44 samples that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, endometrial cancer with positive receptor estrogen expression was the most prevalent (80%). The highest prevalence was found in the 40–49 age group (31.8%), and low histopathological grade showed the highest proportion (86.4%). Bivariate analysis revealed no significant relationship between age and histopathological grade of endometrial cancer in both positive and negative receptor estrogen expression groups, with p-values of 0.266 and 0.258 respectively (p > 0.05). This study indicates that age and histopathological grade of endometrial cancer do not have a significant relationship.
