Dampak Kegiatan Penambangan Pasir Tradisional Terhadap Kondisi Sosial Ekonomi Keluarga Penambang Di Jorong Palupuh Nagari Pasia Laweh Kecamatan Palupuh Kabupaten Agam
This research examines the socio-economic impact of traditional sand mining activities on the families of miners in Jorong Palupuh, Nagari Pasia Laweh, Palupuh District, Agam Regency. Traditional sand mining is one of the livelihoods for the local community, but it presents significant challenges to the social and economic welfare of the miners and their families.
The study employs a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings indicate that the socio-economic conditions of the miners' families remain low, with an average monthly income of Rp 1,445,515.63, which is below the poverty line of Agam Regency per capita. Sand mining contributes 51% to their family income, while the remaining 49% comes from other sources such as agriculture or livestock farming. The conclusion of this research is that although traditional sand mining provides a substantial portion of family income, it does not significantly improve the socio-economic conditions of the miners.
