Hubungan Pola Makan Tinggi Kalori Dengan Kejadian Obesitas Pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Riau Yang Indekos
Obesity is a condition in which the amount of fat tissue in the body exceeds normal limits when compared to total body weight, or is characterized by the accumulation of excess fat that causes an individual's weight to exceed normal. Consuming more food than necessary, eating foods that are high in calories, and eating little fiber are factors that contribute to obesity. This study aims to determine the relationship of a high-calorie diet with the incidence of obesity. This type of research is quantitative research analytic method with cross sectional type. This study involved 85 indekos students with purposive sampling method, dietary data with food frequency questionnaire. The results showed that the majority of respondents were not obese (65.9%) and the diet was not high in calories (78.8%). Based on the results of the Chi-Square test, the p value is 0.015 (α = 0.05), which means that there is a relationship between a high-calorie diet and the incidence of obesity in indekos students of the Faculty of Medicine, Riau University.
