This research design is pure experimental research (true experiment), with a pretest
post- test control group design, namely research to obtain students' initial scores through
giving a pre- test, then giving a final test (post-test) to conclude the research. Based on the
results of research carried out in experimental classes using animated film media and
control classes using conventional media for class VII students at SMPN Madani
Pekanbaru. The results show that there is a difference in the average before treatment and
after treatment. The experimental class pre-test has a minimum score of 60 and a maximum
of 80, with an average of 72.00. After applying the animated film media and carrying out
tests, the experimental class post-test score was obtained, namely a minimum score of 80
and a maximum of 93, with an average of 85.25. Then, the pre-test post-test scores were
compared with the control pre-test post-test scores. In this case, the control class uses
conventional media. The control class pre-test had 80 and a maximum of 86. With an
average of 72.00. After applying conventional media and carrying out tests, the control
class post-test score was obtained, namely a minimum score of 80 and a maximum of 93,
with an average of 83.79.
