Partisipasi Masyarakat Dalam Pengelolaan Objek Ekowisata Mangrove Di Kecamatan Sungai Apit Kabupaten Siak
ABSTRACT
Mangrove ecosystems play a crucial role in maintaining coastal environmental balance and hold significant potential for sustainable ecotourism development. In Sungai Apit Subdistrict, Siak Regency, the presence of mangrove forests presents both opportunities and challenges for community-based management. This study aims to analyze the level of community participation in managing mangrove ecotourism. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, involving field observations, in-depth interviews, and literature review. The research was conducted in three villages: Kayu Ara Permai, Mengkapan, and Sungai Rawa. The findings indicate that community participation takes various forms, including idea contributions, labor, financial support, and skills. However, the level of participation varies between villages. Kayu Ara Permai demonstrates active involvement due to strong internal engagement and external support. In contrast, Mengkapan and Sungai Rawa face obstacles such as limited knowledge, inadequate infrastructure, and insufficient guidance from stakeholders. Continuous collaboration among local communities, government, and other partners is essential to achieve effective and sustainable mangrove ecotourism management.
