Karakteristik Briket Arang Biji Alpukat Dan Cangkang Biji Karet Dengan Perekat Tapioka
ABSTRACT
Avocado seeds and rubber seed shells are biomass waste that can be used as an alternative source in the form of charcoal briquettes because they contain lignin and cellulose. The purpose of this study is to produce charcoal briquettes with the best characteristics from a combination of avocado seed charcoal and rubber seed shell charcoal with tapioca adhesive, based on SNI No. 01-6235-2000. The study was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method consisting of five treatments and three replications. The treatments in this research include the ratio of avocado seed charcoal to rubber seed shell charcoal, namely BC1 (50:50), BC2 (40:60), BC3 (30:70), BC4 (20:80), and BC5 (10:90). The treatments were significant to the observations made. The selected treatment in this study was BC5 of avocado seed charcoal and rubber seed shell charcoal (10:90), with a water content of 3.61%, ash content of 3.22%, volatile matter content of 11.21%, and bound carbon content of 81.96%, and calorific value of 7,094.24 cal/g.
