Pengaruh Ph Dan Kecepatan Pengadukan Terhadap Adsorpsi Logam Pb Dan Cu Menggunakan Adsorben Komposit Spent Bleaching Earth (Sbe) - Spent Mushroom Substrate (Sms) Pada Air Limbah Percetakan
ABSTRACT
Printing wastewater contains heavy metals such as lead (Pb) and copper (Cu), which are toxic. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of pH and stirring speed on the adsorption efficiency and capacity of Pb and Cu using a composite adsorbent of Spent Bleaching Earth (SBE) and Spent Mushroom Substrate (SMS) with a composition ratio of 25% SBE and 75% SMS. Characterization was conducted using BET, SEM, and FTIR. The adsorption process was carried out with pH variations (2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) and stirring speed variations (90, 100, 110, and 120 rpm) with a contact time of 60 minutes. The optimal removal efficiency was achieved at pH 5, with 75.728% for Pb and 70.893% for Cu. The optimal stirring speed was 110 rpm, with efficiencies of 79.336% (Pb) and 79.827% (Cu). The highest adsorption capacities were 1.136 mg/g for Pb and 0.923 mg/g for Cu. The data followed the Langmuir isotherm model with R² values of 0.9571 (Pb) and 0.8942 (Cu). The SBE-SMS composite adsorbent demonstrated porous and active surface characteristics, indicating its potential as an adsorbent for heavy metal removal from wastewater.
