Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Padi Gogo (Oryza Sativa L.) Terhadap Pemberian Pupuk Batubara Dan Pupuk Nitrogen Pada Medium Podsolik (Ultisol)
ABSTRACT
Dry land in Riau Province is dominated by the Red Yellow Podsolic soil type which is characterized by soil color that tends to be yellow to reddish brown with characteristics of having a high degree of acidity, low organic matter content, Fe deficiency, and poor nutrients. One thing that needs to be done to overcome the deficiencies in podzolic soil is to provide coal fertilizer. Podzolic soil also lacks nitrogen nutrients. The supply of nitrogen (N) in the soil is the most important factor related to maintaining or increasing soil fertility which will affect plant growth. Management of N in dry land which is generally sloping is an important thing to do. The study aims to determine the effect of the interaction of coal and nitrogen administration as well as coal and nitrogen factors and to obtain the best combination of treatments on the growth and yield of upland rice plants (Oryza sativa L.) in podzolic media. This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden and Soil Science Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. This study was conducted experimentally in factorial form using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors, namely the provision of coal fertilizer consisting of 3 levels (control, 250 and 500 kg.ha-1) and the provision of Nitrogen fertilizer consisting of 4 levels (control, 25, 50 and 75 kg.ha-1). The data obtained from this study were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and further tested with the DNMRT test at a level of 5% using the SAS application. Based on the results of the study, the results showed that the combination of 500 kg.ha-1 coal fertilizer and 75 kg.ha-1 N fertilizer significantly increased plant height, maximum tillers, productive tillers, number of full grains per panicle, percentage of full and dry grains per clump.
