Pengaruh Kecepatan Arus Terhadap Hasil Tangkapan Togok Di Perairan Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti
This study aims to determine the effect of tidal and ebb current speed on the catch of togok fishing gear in the waters of Sokop Village, Meranti Islands Regency. The method used is a field survey with primary data collection techniques using a current meter and direct observation. Measurements were carried out for 10 days of togok operation. The results showed that the current speed at low tide (average 1.26 m/s) was higher than at high tide (average 0.45 m/s), and provided more catches. Simple linear regression analysis showed that current speed had a significant effect on catches both at high tide (R²=0.697; p=0.003) and low tide (R²=0.785; p=0.001). The study concluded that current speed is an important factor in the success of fishing with togok gear, with maximum catches obtained at low tide.
