Kandungan Mikroplastik Pada Air Dan Sedimen Laut Di Kawasan Pantai Apar Kota Pariaman Provinsi Sumatera Barat
This study aims to see the types and content of microplastics in water and marine sediments in the Apar Beach area of Pariaman City. This study was conducted in February-March 2025 in the Apar Beach area of Pariaman City, West Sumatra Province. This study used a survey method and direct sampling to the research location using 3 sampling stations with 3 repetitions within a period of every 1 week. The results of this study found microplastics of fiber, fragments, films, and granular types in water and marine sediments. In seawater based on the station, a total of 359 microplastic particles were found and the highest percentage was in the fiber type, which was 44.57%, while the lowest percentage was in the granular type, which was 2.78%. In sediment based on the low tide line to the highest tide, a total of 1,134 microplastic particles were found and the highest percentage was in the fiber type, which was 43.03%, while the lowest percentage was in the granular type, which was 3.79%. This is influenced by fishing activities that originate from the degradation of various fishing gear such as fishing rods and ship ropes that experience friction and then decompose into plastic particles with very small sizes that enter the waters.
