Prarancangan Pabrik Asam Tereftalat Dari Proses Amoco Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Oksidasi P-Xylene (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Terephthalic acid is used as the main raw material for making polyester yarn fiber
for the textile industry, as the main raw material for making "polyester chips" as a
raw material for making polyester fiber which is useful for textile raw materials,
tires, seatbelts, reinforcement and heat-resistant jackets, as polyester filament for
polyester yarn raw materials, can be used as a raw material for making PET bottles
(polyethylene terephthalate). The Terephthalic Acid Factory with a capacity of
250,000 tons/year is planned to be established in 2027 in the Tuban Industrial Area,
East Java Province, Indonesia. Terephthalic acid is produced from Paraxylene raw
materials with the help of cobalt (II) acetate catalyst using the BP (Amoco) process
with a final product purity of 99%. The main tool design in the design of this factory
is the Paraxylene Oxidation Reactor (R-101) which operates at operating
conditions of 200oC temperature and 16 atm pressure with a height dimension of
30.02 m and a diameter of 6.02 m. The results of the economic analysis of the
Terephthalic Acid factory are: Total Capital Investment (TCI) of
Rp1,089,262,411,571 with a Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) value of
Rp925,873,049,836 and Working Capital Investment (WCI) of Rp163,389,361,736;
Total Production Cost (TPC) of Rp2,896,406,870,353; Product sales of
Rp3,596,432,551,372; BEP (Break event Point) of 56.53%; Payback Period (PBP)
for 2.8 years. ROI (Rate of Investment) of 34.995%; IRR (Internal Rate of Return)
of 22.610. Based on the results of the economic analysis obtained, it can be
concluded that the terephthalic acid factory from Paraxylene raw materials is
feasible to be established.
