Basic locomotor movements which are the subject matter taught in elementary schools (SD). Students often experience obstacles or difficulties in participating in physical education lessons that require locomotor movement skills, especially jumping and jumping skills. The problem that students often face in jumping and jumping material is that students often have difficulty maintaining balance when landing after a jump or jump. This can lead to minor injuries or fear of trying again. This study aims: to determine the improvement of students' basic locomotor movement skills with the play method in physical education subjects for Class IV students of SDN 123 Pekanbaru. This research uses the type of Classroom Action Research (PTK). The sample in this study were all fourth grade students of SDN 123 Pekanbaru in the 2024/2025 school year, totalling 34 people. This research instrument is an observation instrument. The data analysed in this study consisted of two types of data, namely qualitative and quantitative data. The results showed that the results of teacher observations showed that in cycle 1 obtained a score of 91 at meeting 1 and 77 at meeting 2. In cycle 2 obtained a score of 93 at meeting 1 and 93 at meeting 2. In cycle 1, students have obtained scores of 85 at meeting 1 and 78 (classified as sufficient) at meeting 2, while in cycle 2, students obtained scores of 88 for meeting 1 and 90 for meeting 2. In cycle 1 at meeting 1 the average student score was 69 on jumping material and 68 on jumping material. And at meeting 2 it was 69 on jumping and jumping material. In cycle II, the average student score at meeting 1 on jumping material was 77, on jumping material was 76 and at meeting 2 was 77 on jumping material and 79 on jumping material. The percentage of completeness in cycle 1 at meeting 1 and meeting 2, the percentage of completeness was 70.5. In cycle 1 in meeting 1 and meeting 2, the percentage of completeness was 70.5.
