Pengaruh Pertumbuhan Penduduk Terhadap Pembangunan Ekonomi Di Kota Pekanbaru
This research was conducted in the city of Pekanbaru, aims to determine the influence of population growth on economic development. Where the economic development seen from two sides, namely economic growth and income distribution.
This study used data from the 2005-2014 time series, namely population growth, the GDP constant prices, and the Gini index ratio of Pekanbaru. The analytical method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method, which is simple regression analysis.
From the testing that has been done, the partial regression test (t test) note that if the population growth increased by 1% will increase the economic growth rate of 2.050678%. Population growth has a significant impact on economic growth at the level of probability (sig) is 0.0000, which means are under α of 0.05. With the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.971012, this shows that economic growth is influenced by population growth of 97.10%, while the remaining 2.90% are influenced by other factors not discussed in this study. On the contrary, the population growth has no significant effect on income distribution as obtained degree of probability (sig) is 0.3006, which means is above α of 0.05.
