Strategi Pengembangan Lembaga Konservasi Desa Segati Kecamatan Langgam Kabupaten Pelalawan Provinsi Riau
The collaboration of forest management between Segati community and company, accomplished in a Village Conservation Institution. LKD Segati is an institution manages by the community. LKD Segati has the vision and mission of managing nature to increase public revenues, economic development alternatives and create new jobs, and undertake sustainable management of protected areas. This study aims to identify the potential and the problems faced by LKD Segati, and formulate alternative development strategy LKD Segati. SWOT analysis is used to formulate the company strategy factors with SWOT matrix. This matrix illustrates clearly how the external opportunities and threats faced by LKD Segati can be customized with its strengths and weaknesses. Potential of the LKD Segati that has officers and members, strategic location, has a legal institution, support of companies and NGO's counterpart, and have access to the conservation area. Problems faced by LKD Segati is still low human resources capacity, weak management institutions, lack of financial resources, and inadequate facilities. The results of this study showed that development strategy can be applied in LKD Segati is a) improving human resource capacity by training gradually through corporate support, NGO/government, b) to maintain and improve the existing program activities through the support of companies, c) increase cooperation with the governments, company and community, d) improve agency management system, e) using the potential SDA/SDH and the environment tobe a business opportunity.
