Studi Kekuatan Putus (Breaking Strength) Benang Jaring Dari Bahan Pe (Polyethylene) Yang Direndam Dalam Air Laut Dan Air Tawar

This research was conducted on April 5 to May 15, 2017 in Laboratory of Fishing Gear Material of Aquatic Resources Faculty of Fisheries and Marine University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research is to know the breaking strength of PE net after soaking in fresh water and sea water. The method used in this research is the experimental method, Factors consisting of materials with fresh water, sea water and control with 10 repetitions then analyzed by using T test. PE yarn soaked in sea water on day 50 has a small breaking strength. Based on the statistical calculation using T test the ratio of yarn soaked in sea water and fresh water hasn’t difference in the value of breaking strength (Ho accepted) or (Thit Ttab).
