Struktur Komunitas Kepiting Pada Ekosistem Mangrove Di Teluk Buo Kecamatan Bungus Teluk Kabung Kota Padang Provinsi Sumatera Barat
There are illegal logging and domestic activities conducted around the Teluk Buo mangrove forest and thus pollutant originated from those activities reducing the water quality in general. The presence of pollutant affects the mangrove ecosystem as well as the associated organisms, including crabs. To understand the community structure of crabs in the mangrove ecosystem, a research was conducted on February 2017. The crabs were captured from 3 plots (1x1m) that were placed along the transect lines. The crabs present in the plots were collected manually everyday for 2 weeks period. Results shown that there were 9 crabs species present, they were Uca coarctata, U. dussumieri, U. jocelynae, U. lactea perplexa, U. triangularis, U. vocans, Macrophthalmus parvimanus, Thalamita sp. and Perisesarma sp. The crabs abundance was ranged from 8,889 to 35,185 organisms/ha. The value of diversity index was (H’) 0.941 – 2.636, the dominance index was (C) 0.218 – 0.649 and the uniformity Index (E) was 0.135 – 0.757. The water quality parameters are as follows : temperature was 29 - 31 0C; pH was 7.2 – 7.5 and Salinity was 25 - 34 0/00. The most common crab is belonged to Uca sp, while the rarest is Thalamita sp.
