Analisis Strategi Bersaing Industri Lempuk Durian Di Kota Pekanbaru

This research was conducted on the durian lempuk industry in Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this study is to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and determine the strategy of the durian lempuk industry in Pekanbaru City. This study uses primary data and secondary data obtained directly from respondents of durian lempuk industry in Pekanbaru City and the Department of Industry and Perdangangan Pekanbaru City. The population in this study is the whole industry of durian lempuk in Pekanbaru City which amounted to 3 industries of durian lempuk in Pekanbaru City.
The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative and using SWOT analysis to determine the right strategy. The research results show that the strength of the durian lempuk industry is the supervision of production activities, have long experience, varied product form, and specialization of work. While the weakness of durian rubber industry in Pekanbaru City is the availability of raw materials, capital limitations, lack of promotion media, and labor performance is not maximized, while the chances are economic conditions that support, the provision of materials and training from the government, the development of technology, population, and while the acamannya are fluctuations in raw material prices, competition of similar industries, the existence of substitution products, and the threat of newcomers (new industries).
Based on the internal and external matrix shows that the durian lempuk industry in Pekanbaru City is in Quadrant I. This quadrant means that an industry uses its internal strength to take advantage of existing opportunities. The right strategy for the durian lempuk industry in Pekanbaru City is SO strategy.
