Pengaruh Campuran Kapur Dan Poly Allumunium Chloride Dalam Kemasan Osmofilter Untuk Meningkatkan Mutu Air Gambut Sebagai Medium Pertumbuhan Mikroalga Chlorella Sp.
Result of the recent study shown that a packet of mixed 0.7 g PAC and 0.5 g lime wrapped in osmofilter paper can be used for improving the pH of peat water (pH 4.23). The effectiveness of the packet to improve the quality of different acidity level water is unknown. A research aims to understand the effectiveness of the packet has been conducted in January – February 2017. The packet was used to treat 5 different acidity level of water, there were P1 (pH 2), P2 (pH 3), P3 (pH 4), P4 (pH 5), P5 (pH 6). A packet of lime and PAC was immersed in 3L water and was kept for 45 minute. The treated water was then used for rearing Chlorella (100 ml of 106Chlorella in 3L water, for 7 days). Parameters measured were pH and Chlorella population.Results shown that the pH was improved, there were 6.33; 7.26; 7.36; 7.64 and 7.63in P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5 respectively. The growth of Chlorella reared in the treated water shown similar pattern, peaked in the 5th day, but the population of that algae was relatively low in P1 and P2 (220,000 and 650,667 cells/ ml respectively) and relatively high, around 1,000,000 cells/ ml in P3, P4 and P5. Data obtained shown that the packet of lime, and PAC wrapped in osmofilter paper was effective for increasing the pH of different acidity level water and Chlorella is able to live in the treated water.
