Pembuatan Briket Dari Kotoran Sapi
Briquettes are biomass-based alternative energy sources. Biomass used in this study is
cow dung. The purpose of this research is to utilize cow dung waste as raw material of
briquettes, study the effect of using and without using adhesive to briquette’s
characteristics and to determine the best briquette composition according to the national
quality standard 01-6235-2000. The treatment of raw materials includes several
processes such as drying, carbonization and particle size.The independent variable in this
study are (particle size pass 30 mesh stuck at 40 mesh, size pass 40 mesh stuck at 50 mesh
and size pass 50 mesh accomodated in container) and (using adhesive and without
adhesive) the fixed variable is the weight of cow dung which is 100 grams. Test
parameters include briquette quality such as calorific value, moisture content, ash
content,burn rate , the results sho that the particle size and the number of adheives gave
a significant influence on the characteristics of briquesttes. The best briquettes consist
with 20% adhesive have 30 mesh particle size pass having 4,3 % moisture content;
3,57%;time flame18,33 minute; while the best heat value obtained at particle siza passes
50 mesh with an adhesive of 2.507 cal/gram calorific value.
