Side friction is road side activity that can lead to conflict and affect the movement of the traffic flow and reduce the function of road performance. The ammount of side friction affects capacity and speed of road vehicles. This research are obtained by doing survey of traffic volume to see the density of vehicles, then surveys the side friction to see the influence of interference and instantenous velocity surveys both distrubed and undistrubed side friction. This research 200 meters in a segment of Lipat Kain. Next calculation use the Manual Capasity of Indonesia Road in 1997 for the Urban Roads. Based on calculation, the highest traffic volume 1002,1 pcu/hours with a degree of saturation of 0,46 obtained level of service C and the average speed of 29 km/hours. To reduce obstruction due to vehicle side out from the side of the road, then it needs to be done to review the layout of entrances and exits are not directly to the main road in the solid state of the vehicle.
