Morfologi Spora Tumbuhan Paku Epifit Di Kawasan Universitas Riau
University of Riau area is one of fern distribution in Riau, including epiphytic fern. The spore morphology of fern plays an important role in identification and classification. The purpose of research was to examine the spore morphology of epiphytic ferns in the University of Riau area. Inventorisation was carried out using exploration method. The preparations of spore specimens were done using acetolysis method. The spore morphology was then observed using a light microscope Celestron LCD Digital # 44 340 and USB Digital U500x. The result showed a total of 18 epiphytic ferns in study site, however only 13 out of 18 species that have produced spore. The observation of spore morphology showed that all of ferns examined in this study had monolete spore. The spore types based on the size were big (58,4-87,1 μm) 5 species belong to Aspleniaceae, Davalliaceae, Nephrolepidaceae, and Polypodiaceae and very big (105,5-135.6 μm) 8 species belong to Polypodiaceae dan Vittariaceae. Based on the ratio of polar and equatorial only one spore shape was found i.e. oblate (0,50-0,73). The aperture of epiphytic ferns i.e. monosulcate. A total of 5 ornamentation types are found in this study i.e. cretes (2 species Aspleniaceae species), verrucate (4 species within Davalliaceae, Nephrolepidaceae, and Polypodiaceae), tuberculate (1 Polypodiaceae species), psilate (4 species within Polypodiaceae and Vittariaceae), and echinate (2 Polypodiaceae species).
