Penjernihan Air Sungai Siak Menjadi Air Bersih Dengan Variasi Penambahan Tawas (Al2(So4)3) Dan (Ca(Oh)2)
Currently, the siak water has yellows colour, smells, contains organic substances and acidic pH. People who live in the stream areas along the siak river using the water directly. They used it for bathing, washing without processing it in advance. In this research, the water was treated by using coagulation, floccculation, sedimentation and filtration processes. The purpose of this research was to purify the siak water by using coagulation, floccculation sedimentation and filtration process and determined the influence of weight variation for alum and Ca(OH)2 based on color, odor, pH and turbidity. The process was conducted by mixed the siak water with alum and Ca(OH)2. After that, sediment was formed, the filtration process was carried out by using filter paper. The result showed that the best condition achieved at 10 grams of alum and 2,5 grams Ca(OH)2. It showed that the clean water, were odorless, pH 6,7 and 1,8 FTU for turbidity value.
