Hidrolisis Asam Kertas Hvs Bekas Menjadi Glukosa Dengan Menggunakan Variasi Konsentrasi Asam Klorida Dan Waktu
Used paper is a waste material that can be recycled. One of the contents of used paper is cellulose that can be converted to glucose with hydrolysis process. The aim of this study are to determine the effect of hydrochloric acid concentration and hydrolysis time, then to calculate the amount of feed yield of glucose produced. Hydrolysis process using hydrochloric acid (HCl) as a catalyst which was done in the erlenmeyer and heated on a heater with the varying reaction time (60, 120, and 180 minutes) and concentration of hydrochloric acid (1, 2, and 3 N) then glucose was measured by using visible spectrophotometry. This study showed that the highest concentration hydrochloric acid used, the more glucose produced along with the increase of hydrolysis time, as well as with feed yield of glucose. The results showed that the highest of feed yield and glucose produced were found on hydrolysis process with the concentration of hydrochloric acid 2 N at 180 minutes are 23765,625 mg/l and 47,53%.
Keywords: glucose, hydrochloric acid (HCl), hydrolysis, used paper, visible spectrophotometry.
