Pembuatan Asap Cair Dari Tandan Kosong Sawit (Tks) Dengan Proses Pirolisis
Palm oil waste is the residual yield of empty palm oil plants not included in the main product or the result of the process of palm oil processing. Solid palm oil waste can be empty bunches of palm oil and palm kernel shells. For palm kernel shells can be used as carbon / activated charcoal, making liquid fertilizer of sulfate and fuel (biomass), briquettes. In palm oil bunches can be used as PLT biomass, fertilizer, bioethanol and liquid smoke. Smoke is a result of condensation or condensation of vapors from combustion directly or indirectly from materials containing lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose. Smoke is obtained from combustion products which contain many cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin which are incomplete combustion, which is limited oxygen combustion. The purpose of this study was to study how to make liquid smoke from empty palm oil bunches by varying the sample length on the palm oil bunches. The method of work in this study is to begin with the preparation of raw materials, then proceed with making liquid smoke using a pyrolysis reactor, and analysis of liquid smoke produced. The parameters observed were yield, acid content, phenol content, acidity level [pH], specific gravity and viscosity. The results showed that the pyrolysis of TKS with a mass of 200 grams produced liquid smoke with characteristics approaching SNI, namely 35% yield, 1,078 gr/cm3 density, pH 3 and 4, total acid 42%, and viscosity 0.916 cP. Keywords: liquid smoke, palm oil bunches, pyrolysis, density, viscosity.
