Pengaruh Kepemimpinan Transformasional Kepala Sekolah, Kompetensi Pedagogik, Dan Motivasi Kerja Guru Terhadap Mutu Pendidikan Pada Sekolah Dasar Negeri Di Kota Pekanbaru
The research variables consist of two independent variables namely Transformational Leadership of Principal (X1) and Pedagogical Competences (X2), then there is one intervening variable namely Work Motivation of Teacher (Y), while the dependent variable is Education Quality (Z). The sample in this study were 60 teachers of 6 grade in 30 Public Elementary Schools in Pekanbaru obtained by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used path analysis.
In this study it can be concluded that Transformational Leadership of Principal and Pedagogical Competences simultaneously have a significant effect on Work Motivation of Teacher. This is because transformational leadership provides high spirit and morality to educators, in other words continuous teacher work motivation has an impact on leadership quality in a school. On the other hand, the quality of teaching and learning of competent teachers depends on the quality of leadership of the principal. If it is synergized to be united, it will improve the quality of education in the school. However, the facts found in this study contradict the proper theory. In fact, not all principals' leadership and pedagogical competencies have an effect on the quality of education, it is possible that some principal do not fulfill the standards and do not take special training for principal candidate for the leadership of principals which compatible to the regulations that apply accordingly. In addition, there are still some competent teachers in elementary school in Pekanbaru who still have not been certified. Meanwhile, the graduation standard of certification is mastering pedagogic competence and professional competence. There are suggestion for further research, which are to discuss how the implications of the principal's leadership and teacher's pedagogical competence on the quality of education in public elementary schools in Pekanbaru.
