Korelasi Kebiasaan Merokok Dengan Tekanan Darah Pasien Hipertensi Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau
Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that is a health problem and is called the silent killer. The state of increased blood pressure can continue to a target organ which can cause strokes, heart attacks, kidney disorders, and blindness. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between smoking habits and blood pressure in hypertensive patients at RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province. This research was an analytical research with cross sectional design. The samples were taken by using consecutive sampling technique with 88 respondents. Data collection on smoking habits using a questionnaire, while blood pressure data is taken by measuring the patient's blood pressure using a sphygmomanometer. The results showed that the highest characteristics of hypertensive patients were over 60 years old amounting to 59 people (67.0%), women with 50 people (56.8%), high school education with 37 people (42.2%), working as housewives 32 people (36.4%), and no smoking totaled 57 people (64.8%). Data were analyzed using the Spearman test. The Spearman test shows results p = 0.288. It can be concluded that there is no correlation between smoking habits and the blood pressure of hypertensive patients in RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province.
