Sifat Mekanik Beton Crumb Rubber Dan Abu Sekam Sebagai Material Perkerasan Kaku
ABSTRACT
Rigid pavement is a construction that requires material with high compressive and flexural strength to bearing a massive load and preventing cracks to occur. This research aims to designed the optimum concrete mixtures with addition of crumb rubber by 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and rice husk ash by 7.5%, 10%, 12.5% as a flexural and compactness enhancement and analyzed the mechanical properties namely compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural strength. The optimum mixture was obtained by doing a parametric study through compressive test and flexural test on the concrete at 28 days while the mechanical properties were tested at 7, 14, and 28 days after cured. The result of parametric study showed that the optimum mixture was obtained on the concrete with addition of 5% crumb rubber and 10% rice husk ash (PCC CR-RHA) with both compressive and flexural strength value were 36.38 MPa and 4.53 MPa. Based on the result of the mechanical test, it was shown that PCC CR-RHA concrete had a lower compressive strength value than PCC concrete with difference of 12.21% at 28 days. It was also shown that PCC CR-RHA concrete had a slightly lower split tensile strength value compared to PCC concrete with difference of 2.55% at 28 days. On the other side, the result of flexural strength shown that PCC CR-RHA concrete had a higher value compared to PCC concrete by 6.86% at 28 days. It can be concluded that the addition of crumb rubber and rice husk ash improved the mechanical properties of concrete and able to be a rigid pavement material.
