Karakteristik Minyak Ikan Dari Lemak Perut Ikan Patin (Pangasius Hypophthalmus) Menggunakan Bentonite Dan Kain Kasa Sebagai Penyaring
ABSTRACT
Bentonite adsorbent can be used for refining fish oil, and the factor influencing of this performance is the filtration. This study was aimed to determine the effect of filtration gauze by different coats on the quality levels of good quality fish oil purification. This research used a non-factorial complete randomized design (RAL) consisting of 3 levels of one coating (P1L), two coatings (P2L), and three coatings (P3L). The analysis parameters in this study were free fatty acids, peroxide value, paraanisidin (p-anisidin) value, and total oxidation value. The results showed that filtration used gauze by a different coating did not affect the quality of pure fish oil because it was the requirements under the IFOS (International Fish Oil Standard) levels of free fatty acids ≤ 2 0.95% (P1L), 1.04% (P2L), and 0.99% (P3L). Peroxide value ≤ 3.75 was 2.93 meq/kg (P1L), 3.10 meq/kg (P2L), and 2.96 meq/kg (P3L). Paraanisidin (p-anisidin) value ≤ 15 was 8.99 meq/kg (P1L), 9.68 meq/kg (P2L), and 8.53 meq/kg (P3L). Total oxidation value ≤ 20 was 14.89 meq/kg (P1L), 15.88 meq/kg (P2L), 14.45 meq/kg (P3L). The value of the yield was 24.45% (P1L), 40.87% (P2L), and 56.45% (P3L).
