Pengembangan Alat Eksperimen Gerak Jatuh Bebas Dengan Tiga Titik Pengukuran Sensor Fotodioda Sebagai Media Pembelajaran
This research is motivated by the limitation in availability of free fall experimental apparatus in the senior high school, have caused students to have difficulties in understanding the free fall concept. The goal of this research is to design a valid and practical free fall experiment apparatus, which can also be developed for other experiments such as mechanical energy and restitution coefficients .
The development of this free fall experimental apparatus uses a photodiode sensor with three measurement point configurations, where sensors 1 and 2 are movable. The step of this research are: designing, testing, revisioning, calibrationing and finishing. The prototype of this apparatus design is made from a PVC tube-sized tube with 100 cm for length, 100 mm for inner diameter and 110 mm for outer diameter . The prototype surface is made of hole measuring 80 x 80 cm with alternating hose pattern to minimize air friction in the tube.
The testing shows that the objects falling acceleration tends to be constant, namely the median value of 9,79 ± 3,4x10-3 m/s2, which is equivalent to the acceleration of gravity. The apparatus works very optimally if the ball is dropped from the height of 100 cm and the ball is 60 mm in diameter with a mass of 10 grams. The moveable sensor 2 at the apparatus can also be used for mechanical energy experiments and restitution coefficient.
This experimental apparatus is packaged in two components, namely the free fall motion experiment apparatus and manual book with Student Worksheets (LKS). The results of the analysis of the trial data by the validator and the practitioner show that the apparatus has very high validity and practicality and can be used as an experimental apparatus for free fall for physics senior high school learning.
