The era of the 4th industrial revolution has encouraged humans to develop science and technology to become increasingly sophisticated and easier. The rapid development of technology has directly affected all aspects of life, including searching, processing and rediscovering information and archives. School library as a source of information that cannot be separated from management activities, has an important role in educational institutions, especially schools. School library as one of the educational facilities that can meet educational needs because it can support learning and teaching activities and support simple research for residents in the school environment.
The development of information has demanded the fulfillment of information needs for library users who want to be fast, effective and efficient. The school library that has been developing to provide information in physical form that is printed on paper has been transformed into information in electronic or digital form. Limited librarians become obstacles in the development of school libraries. School libraries are usually managed solely by teachers or employees who are entrusted with multiple tasks to become library staff. The lack of library staff knowledge about library management that is in line with operational standards often results in delays in the service process for library users. research focus library staff organizing, processing library materials, maintaining library materials, and compiling library library materials in Mts Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru, sub focus are planning field, organizing field, lack of technological technical support, library management supervision.
The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive method. The research location at Mts Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru When the study began seminar starting from the proposal to the thesis examination. Data collection techniques from sources of books, interviews and the relevant documents. The results showed that the constraints that hinder the management process can be divided into two types namely non-technical and technical constraints. Non-technical obstacles include limited knowledge, insight, ability and skills of library staff in the IT field; the lack of encouragement of the principal in the management process and the existence of more interesting work than in the library field.
