Analisis Tingkat Degradasi Das Sail Kota Pekanbaru Terhadap Kelestarian Lingkungan Dan Kesejahteraan Masyarakat

The purpose of this research is to know and analyze (1) the level degradation of watershed in Sail River Pekanbaru City; (2) the factors caused degradation of watershed in Sail River Pekanbaru City; (3) the effect of degradation watershed in Sail River on environmental sustainability; (4) the effect of degradation watershed in Sail River on the public welfare; (5) Sail River management model in accordance with Pekanbaru City area. The research method used survey method, because in addition to studying watershed degradation, causal factors and watershed management model to explain the relationship between variables studied. The data used are primary data and secondary data with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires, interviews and observation. The sample in this research is the society around Sail River Pekanbaru City which amounts to 100 people. While the data analysis used in the form of regression analysis and Sail River Basin management model. Based on the research results can be seen that (1) The level of degradation in Sail River Pekanbaru City has reached a level of concern because it belongs to the category of watershed that must be recovered and immadiate handling. This is evident from the floods in the rainy season and the drought in the dry season is a very prominent indicator of watershed damage; (2) The factors causing of degradation in Sail River Pekanbaru City include inappropriate land use, excessive logging, closure of lakes and other water pockets, and the change of drainage and river channels; (3) Degradation in Sail River Pekanbaru City has negative and significant impact on environmental sustainability. It shows that the low degradation of DAS caused the environmental sustainability will increase. It means that to preserve the environment, degradation of DAS must be stopped continuously; (4) Degradation of watershed in Sail River Pekanbaru City has negative and significant effect on public welfare. It shows that the low degradation of DAS caused the public welfare will increase; (5) River tailings management model in accordance with the area of Pekanbaru City is an integrated management model which is one alternative approach to avoid the inequality of the program in the utilization of watershed resources.
