Kemampuan Mitigasi Bencana Melalui Engineering Design Process (EDP) Pada Siswa Sekolah Dasar Kelas V SDN 011 Sering Barat Pelalawan
The application of education in elementary schools can be realized by the existence of a learning process that is able to empower the potential of students so that they can build and develop their own knowledge. Through proper EDP learning can bring up the ability of students in designing solutions to flood problems that occur in their environment. The participants of this study were student of class V SDN 011 Sering Barat Pelalawan with 17 students (n= 8 male laki dan 9 female). Data collection was carried out through observation sheets, instruments used in rubrics, student worksheets and mindmap questions. Data analysis was performed by identifying the tendency of disaster mitigation capabilities in designing the problem solving of each participant. This research shows that the ability of students in designing solutions to flood disasters through EDP tends to be better than the trials conducted before the research. EDP can develop the ability to design problem solving.
